Abstract :
Surfactant distribution between the coacervate and aqueous phases of clouded C12E10 (polyoxyethylene 10 lauryl ether) solution in various initial C12E10 concentrations was studied. Temperature and the salinity affects on the distribution of C12E10 concentration were also investigated. Differing from the normal liquid–liquid equilibria, in the presented work, when the salinity of the solution and ambient temperature is high enough (i.e., Δ T = T − CP is sufficiently high), it is observed that the C12E10 concentration in the aqueous phase increases significantly with increasing original C12E10 concentration, while the C12E10 concentration in the coacervate phase almost keeps constant.
