Abstract :
The multicomponent silicate glass doped with Au nano-particles and Erbium-ions was successfully fabricated using the sol–gel method. The optical properties of the glass for amplification at 1550 nm as well as upconversion emissions at visible wavelengths were investigated using the Judd–Ofelt analysis. The effect of incorporation of Au nano-particles along with Erbium-ions over the emission properties upon pumping at nonresonant wavelength was studied.
