Abstract
The effect of ball milling time on the average particle size, particle size distribution and zeta potential for different boron suspensions is studied. Electrophoretic deposition of boron films from these suspension solutions was carried out. Chronoamperometric plots during the electrophoretic deposition of boron films are recorded and the growth mechanism is revealed. The films produced were characterized by XRD for their structure and by SEM for their surface morphology. EDAX was used for the determination of elemental composition of the films. The suspension with average particle size (2.62 μm) and zeta potential (34.2 mV) was found suitable to get thick, uniform and pores-free boron films.
