Abstract :
Two procedures were suggested to determine sublimation enthalpies and bond energies between the components A and B of a binary alloy. One procedure is based on the determination of the deposition potential of the less noble metal at the alloy, another method is connected with the evaluation of characteristic underpotential deposition potentials. The interaction energy is one of the factors determining formation of intermetallic compounds. Examples are discussed about expected and observed structures in electrochemical deposits.
