Abstract
In this work, the method of modelling of electrical characteristics of the insulated surface discharge (ISD) by use of electrical circuit simulator PSpice is presented. The main part of the PSpice model is a capacitive network. For identification of the capacities, the electric fields calculated by program quickfield are used. A macro-model is proposed, which deals with such effects as suppression of subsequent micro-discharges at the same place or reduction of the ignition voltage due to the charge accumulated in the previous discharge excitation half-cycle. A special focus of this work is on the influence of the ISD electrode layout on its electrical characteristics. The influence of such features of the electrode layout, as concave and convex shape of the electrode edge, can be analysed.
