Abstract :
A rapidly solidified TiC reinforced FeAl in situ composite coating was fabricated on an austenitic stainless steel substrate by laser cladding using Fe–Al–Ti–C elemental powder blends. Because of the in situ incorporation of TiC and the mixed metallic-covalent atomic bonds of the FeAl matrix, the coating has good high-temperature wear resistance under sliding wear test conditions.
