Abstract :
Thin films of two-dimensional nano-hybrid materials, with the general formula of (C6H5C2H4NH3)2PbBr4, have been synthesized via self-assembly, and their optical properties have been investigated. X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that thin films deposited by a spin-coating method were highly oriented with the c-axis perpendicular to the substrate surface. These materials showed a strong exciton absorption and photoluminescence with substantially large exciton binding energy (290±10 meV), even at room temperature. In order to clarify the origin of degradation, the photo-stability of materials was also studied, and it is found that light irradiation-induced oxidation is one of the possible reasons for the degradation.
