Abstract :
In the recent 20 years, intense pulsed ion beam (IPIB) techniques, due to the advantages of the beam, have been researched extensively in material field. In this paper, we established a temperature model with phase transformation. Based on the model, two-dimensional numerical research has been carried out on the ablation effects of metal titanium target irradiated by IPIB. Temporal and spatial evolution of the ablation process of the target during a pulse has been achieved. We have obtained the conclusion that melting and evaporation process begins from the surface and the ablation of target is layer by layer, the average ablation velocity in target central region is about 10 m/s.
