Cardiovascular risk factors like hypertension contributes 12% of death. Cardiovascular diseases contribute 25% of death. Certain trace elements found to be beneficial for human health by mimicking hypolipidemic, antidiabetic, antihypertensive and antiantherogenic thereby reducing coronary artery disease. Mica mine ore consists of Aluminium (Al),Magnesium(Mg),Iron(Fe),Lithium(Li), Chromium(Cr),Manganese (Mn),Vanadium (V),Zinc (Zn), and Silicon( Si). We undertook coronary risk factors survey of mica mineworkers of Nellore district first time in order to investigate whether they have any effect of these trace elements on prevalence of cardiovascular diseases. Detailed clinical examination, risk factors profile like Blood pressure measurement, Blood sugar and lipid levels were undertaken. Our results indicated that 12.25% are having the hypertension (HTN), hypercholesterolemia 12.4% and Diabetes 9%, Mica mine workers also showed 0.79% ischemic heart disease, 5.8% Prevalence of Diabetes and Hypertension, 5.8% prevalence of Hypertension and Hypercholesterolemia, 4.8 5% prevalence Diabetes and Hypercholesterolemia, and 1.2% prevalence of Diabetes, Hypertension and Hypercholesterolemia.
