Translocation (X;10)(p10;p10): A rare but nonrandom chromosomal abnormality in acute leukemia of myeloid differentiation

Structural abnormality of chromosome X is uncommonly seen in patients with acute leukemia, and translocation between chromosome X and 10 is an exceedingly rare event. In this report, we describe the occurrence of t(X;10)(p10;p10) in two patients with acute leukemia, one with one acute monocytic leukemia and the other with myeloblastic relapse arising from bilineage leukemia. To our knowledge, similar chromosomal abnormality has been reported only twice in the literature.
