Abstract
Influence of different annealing temperatures and cooling rates on FeNiBSiNb amorphous and crystalline composite coatings was investigated. Coatings were annealed at different temperatures as 500 °C, 600 °C, 700 °C, 800 °C and 900 °C for 30 min and the crystallization behavior of the amorphous composite coating was investigated. The intensity of crystalline phase diffraction peaks gradually increases with the increasing annealing temperature. Apparently, the relative volume fractions of amorphous phases decrease with an increase of annealing temperature. The amount of crystalline grains in the coating decreases with the increasing cooling rate. In brief, an equiaxed structure in the clad layer is beneficial to increase the glass forming ability (GFA) of the coating.
