MR diagnosis of lymphangioleiomyomatosis: Visibility of pulmonary cysts on spin-echo images

The signs and symptoms of pulmonary lymphangioleiomyomatosis are nonspecific, but the radiographic findings, particularly those on computed tomographic (CT) scans, often suggest the diagnosis. Although evaluation of the lungs on magnetic resonance (MR) scans is limited, MR findings in some diffuse lung diseases have been described. This report illustrates a case of lymphangioleiomyomatosis in which the diagnosis was suggested by the appearance of the lungs on spin-echo MR images.
