Abstract
A direct way to reach mono 3-hydroxy per-O-methylated α-cyclodextrin by de-O-methylation with phenylthiotrimethylsilane is reported. This compound is fully characterized by NMR spectroscopy and liquid chromatography with mass spectroscopy coupling.
