Abstract :
Four ninhydrin-based cyclophanes 4a, 4b, 6a, and 6b were designed and synthesized. Two rectangular type cyclophanes (4a and 4b) and two square type cyclophanes (6a and 6b) were prepared in 8–43% yields.
