Abstract :
Ring expansion of readily available zirconacyclopentadienes or zirconacyclopentanes by insertion of chloro(trimethylsilyl)methyllithium followed by metathesis with phosphorous trichloride provides a novel route to λ3-phosphinines (phosphabenzenes) or phosphinanes.
