Abstract :
The baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) mediated asymmetric bioreduction of 2-ethylhex-2-enal (1) went smoothly under a mild condition and afforded a high yield of (S)-2-ethylhexan-1-ol (2a) with excellent enantioselectivity in biphasic system.
