Abstract :
A novel protocol for the generation of β-branched Baylis–Hillman adducts in moderate yields (52–68%) as E/Z mixtures from commercially available dienoates such as ethyl sorbate and aryl aldehydes catalyzed by DABCO in DMSO is reported.
