Abstract :
The new (R)-6,6′-bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)-2,2′-dihydroxy-1,1′-binaphthyl (1) has been synthesized and proved to generate highly active zirconium-based catalysts for asymmetric Mannich-type reactions.
