Abstract :
A new four-component reaction involving two starting materials is described. The reaction of terminal alkynoates with aromatic aldehydes catalyzed by PPh3 (50 mol %) in CH2Cl2 at reflux afforded multifunctional vinylesters in moderate yields. A plausible mechanism is proposed.
