Abstract :
An enantioselective metal-mediated addition of allylic bromides to carbonyl compounds was achieved in the presence of the inexpensive and easily accessible carbohydrates saccharose and β-cyclodextrin. The desired products were obtained in moderate to excellent yields and with up to 93% enantiomeric excess.
