Abstract :
Synthetic mycolic acids matching the overall structure of the major α- and methoxy-mycolic acids of Mycobacterium tuberculosis are coupled to trehalose to generate the corresponding synthetic trehalose dimycolate (TDM; cord factor) and trehalose monomycolate (TMM).
