Abstract :
The one-pot, three-component condensation of sarcosine or proline Schiff bases with several aromatic aldehydes and the Knِevenagel adduct of isatin-malononitrile successfully affords spiropyrrolidine-oxindoles and spiropyrrolizine-oxindoles.
