Abstract :
Those who educate professional practitionersdo not need to be told that their work is complicated and onerous and brings with it a heavy burden of responsibility. They know their work is crucial and pivotal in their profession. But how is the work of the professional educator viewed by others and what do those others then come to know about the practice of professional education? This paper explores some of these issues and suggests ways of enhancing the status and perception of professional education.
