Abstract :
The changes in nursing educationunderway in the UK and the USA are designed to educate a new type of practitioner. These new practitioners will be emancipated, critically reflective, creative and autonomous in their practice. This paper looks at the progress of the revolution, with particular reference to the UK, by critically examining the literature arising out of it. The implications for nursing education and educators are examined.
