Abstract :
From evaluation of this small series of patients, we conclude that normal sinus rhythm and normal cardiac function can be achieved and maintained after cessation of therapy in many patients with AAT using combination medical therapy. Patients with multiple tachycardia foci may be refractory to either medical or ablation therapy. Given the spontaneous resolution of AAT in as many as 75% of patients after medical therapy, an analysis of the cost-effectiveness of ablation versus short-term drug treatment would be useful to decide the optimal approach.
