Apolipoprotein ε4 is not a genetic risk factor for coronary artery disease or restenosis after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty

In conclusion, our results indicate that the apoε4 allele is not a significant risk factor for development of CAD or restenosis after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty. Thus, routine screening of persons for apoε genotypes to identify those at high risk for development of CAD or restenosis is not recommended.
