Abstract :
These results allow us to conclude that direct-current cardioversion, even preceded by mechanical resuscitation of short duration, does not result in myocardial damage, and that the source of elevated CK and CK-MB in some patients must be only skeletal. Because of its specificity, cTnI is better than CK-MB activity and CK-MB mass determination for diagnosis of myocardial damage in patients who have undergone electrical cardioversion.
