ANALYSIS OF SOFTWARE COST ESTIMATION MODELS

Abstract - Software Cost estimation is a process of forecasting the Cost of project in terms of budget, time, and other resources needed to complete a software system and it is a core issue in the software project management to estimate the cost of a project before initiating the Software Project. Different models have been developed to estimate the cost of software projects for the last several years. Most of these models rely on the Analysts’ experience, size of the software project and some other software metrics. Each model has its some key strengthens and some limitations. In this research some effort estimation models are assessed for their strengthens and limitations. This research will propose some effective measures to select appropriate model in appropriate mode of software development.
