Abstract :
Tandem reaction of α-diazocarbonyl compounds in the presence of rhodium(II) acetate catalyst is described to furnish a range of conformationally restricted C2 symmetric macrodiolides via head to tail dimerization of intramolecular carbonyl ylides.
