Utility of stress echocardiography in the triage of patients with atypical chest pain from the emergency department

This study demonstrates that a normal stress echocardiography study predicts an excellent prognosis for cardiac event-free survival over the ensuing year, thus allowing patient to forgo further cardiovascular evaluation. However, the prognostic power of a normal stress ECG was inferior to stress echocardiography in this low-moderate risk group of patients.
