Mortality rates and hemorrhagic complications in asian-pacific islanders during treatment of acute myocardial infarction

The investigators hypothesized that aggressive antiplatelet and anticoagulation therapies used in the management of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) may unmask subclinical defects in platelet function and coagulation. Analysis of hemorrhagic complications in 1,983 patients admitted for AMI suggests genetic and pathologic causes.
