Abstract
The absorption spectra and the decay kinetics of solvated electron in ethanol have been investigated at different temperatures from 22 to 250 °C and pressures from 8 to 40 MPa, by using nanosecond pulse radiolysis techniques. The results show that the peak position of the absorption spectrum for solvated electron shifts to longer wavelength from 680 nm at 22 °C to about 1240 nm at 250 °C under 8 MPa. The lifetime of solvated electron becomes shorter with increasing temperature. The pressure dependence of the lifetime at elevated temperatures is more pronounced.
