Abstract
The Derivative Propagation Method (DPM) can be used to classify the components of the total force acting upon a trajectory into local and non-local components, without the use of finite differences or function fittings. In this study, the DPM was used to generate and analyze classical local and quantum non-local forces for evolving trajectories given by a phase space Wigner distribution function governed by the Wigner–Moyal equation for Eckart barrier scattering. Solutions were verified with finite difference methods.
