Abstract :
In this Letter, the luminescent dynamics of poly[2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV) excitons within the 1.2–2.7 MV/cm field-strength range based on a solid-state cathodoluminescence (SSCL) structure were investigated. It can be inferred that the dissociation probability of MEH-PPV excitons increases with applied voltage, and blue emission is favoured. By analysing its current–voltages characteristics using the Poole–Frenkel model, it was found that the device current in the SSCL structure changed from ohmic type to trapped charge-limited type at 40 V at the same time blue emission appeared.
