Abstract :
The formation of H2O(1A1) from the radiative association of oxygen and H2 has been investigated by accurate quantum chemistry calculations. The rate constant calculations have been undertaken for the IR radiative stabilisation of the 1A1 H2O complex formed at the O(1D) and H2 dissociation limit. The formation of H2O(1A1) from the radiative association of O and H2 is discussed within the astrophysical context.
