Room temperature optical absorption and intrinsic photoluminescence in KZnF3

Room temperature UV–Visible diffuse reflectance spectrum of bulk KZnF3 has been studied for the first time which revealed features at 4.1, 4.5 and 5.4 eV. The photoluminescence emission spectrum of KZnF3 showed components at 420 and 440 nm due to the presence of intrinsic defects.
