Abstract :
Using the relative rate method, the rate coefficients for gas phase reactions of Cl atoms with two unsaturated alcohols, 3-buten-1-ol (k1) and 2-buten-1-ol (k2), were determined in 760 Torr of purified air over the temperature range of 298–363 K. At 298 K, the measured rate coefficients (in units of cm3 molecule−1 s−1) were found to be: k1 = (2.63 ± 0.25) × 10−10 and k2 = (3.90 ± 0.35) × 10−10. The values obtained are discussed and compared with the previous determinations.
