Abstract :
This article describes a new, time and material-saving method (Phase Diagram by Micro Plate Dilution (PDMPD) method) for creating pseudoternary phase diagrams for micro- and nanoemulsions.
MPD method enables the creation of ternary phase diagrams of multi-component systems. The method has been tested for the development of formulations of microemulsions. In principle this method makes it possible to determine the stability, long time stability and the phase and solubility behaviour of all liquid to semi-solid phase mixtures, and homogeneous or heterogeneous phase regions, and the effect of substances on the multi-component system. Compared with the traditional titration method (drop method), the PDMPD method enables a more exact status description of multi-component mixtures and the regions of microparticular systems in pseudoternary diagrams and offers the possibility of examining the dilution stages simultaneously and retrospectively on just one microplate.
