Abstract :
A superhydrophobic perfluorooctanoic acid modified TiO2/polystyrene nanocomposites coating was fabricated by a facile spraying process. As modified by perfluorooctanoic acid, the TiO2/polystyrene nanocomposites changed from hydrophilic (86°) to hydrophobic (166°). The wettability can be adjusted by controlling the drying temperature and the content of modified TiO2 nanoparticles. When the weight ratio of perfluorooctanoic acid modified TiO2 to polystyrene was 1:1, the maximum of contact angle was obtained at 180 °C. As the content of perfluorooctanoic acid modified TiO2 increased, the maximum of contact angle was achieved at 100 °C.
