Abstract :
Simple-shaped foamed aluminum parts were produced by investment casting. Direct foaming method was employed for making aluminum foam. The foam was directed into specially designed hot investment casting molds. Foamed parts obtained by this method have a surface skin. Thus they can be used as foamed cores embedded in aluminum parts.
