Abstract :
This work investigates the phase states of the sodium dodecylsulphate + water + decanol lyotropic system and determines the phase diagram of the system. We investigate the mesomorphic, morphologic, refracting and thermotropic properties of the lamellar D, hexagonal E, nematic-calamitic Nc and nematic-discotic Nd mesophases which take place in this system where we investigate large concentration and temperature intervals. aracters of texture transformations and peculiarities of the heterophase regions of the mesophase-isotropic liquid phase transitions have been studied. The character of change in refracting properties is compared with the morphologic and thermotropic properties in lamellar D, hexagonal E, nematic-calamitic Nc and nematic-discotic Nd mesophases.
