Abstract
Differences between the densities of degassed and gas-saturated liquids at 313.15 K have been measured for gas-liquid pairs. The liquids include some members of the homologous series of n-alkanes (n-hexane, n-heptane, n-octane, n-decane, and n-hexadecane) and the 1-alkanols (methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-octanol and 1-decanol). The gases are nitrogen, argon, and carbon dioxide. The partial molar volumes of the gases in the liquids were calculated and correlated with the internal pressures of the liquids.
