Abstract :
Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibria were determined at 101.3 kPa for the binary mixtures methanol + 3-methyl-1-butanol and vinyl acetate + 3-methyl-1-butanol. The two systems exhibit positive deviations from ideal behavior. The experimental data were correlated by the Wilson equation and were found to be thermodynamically consistent. The selectivity of 3-methyl-1-butanol solvent was calculated for both systems. No azeotropes were found for the systems at 101.3 kPa.
