Abstract :
Fluoroethers neither destroy the ozone-layer nor promote greenhouse effect. We found that treatment of HCFC22 with sodium methoxide or methanolic sodium hydroxide yielded fluoroether, CH3OCHF2. Vapor pressure measurements suggested that fluoroethers were expected as alternative refrigerants of HCFC142b.
