Compressive strength of concrete subjected to elevated temperatures

The study of behaviour of concrete at elevated temperatures has assumed great importance in recent times. The paper discusses some of the important factors affecting the compressive strength of concrete subjected to elevated temperatures. The existing expressions proposed by various investigators to take into account the effect of high temperatures on compressive strength of concrete are presented. New empirical expressions are proposed and compared with the available experimental results and other prediction methods.
