Abstract :
An explicit solution has been obtained for the mixing rule of parameter a of the cubic equation of state (EOS) using `finite pressure approachʹ to connect EOS with an activity coefficient model (ACM). The result is expressed in terms of Huron–Vidal solution and a correction, which is dependent on the repulsive term of EOS. Applications to multicomponent mixtures containing volatile components have been considered.
