Abstract :
A highly efficient procedure for synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthenes-11-one derivatives has been achieved in one-pot via bismuth triflate catalyzed formation and these derivatives were subjected to screening against three strains of bacteria species, Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, using standard protocol of Disc Diffusion Method (DDM). This method offers several advantages including wide compatibility, mild condition, high yields and easy work-up.
