Rapid, efficient and eco-friendly synthesis of coumarin derivatives using MgO nanoparticles in [bmim]BF4

In this study, coumarin derivatives were synthesized through one-pot reaction using MgO nanoparticles as a highly efficient reusable heterogeneous base catalyst in ionic liquid [bmim]BF4. The advantages of this method include high yields, short reaction times, solvent-free and mild reaction condition, one-pot procedure, operational simplicity and use of inexpensive and non-toxic catalyst.
