Abstract :
Educational systems are required to evaluate performance of educational institutions in order to feel sure of accomplishing their objectives in schools. For evaluation of their qualitative performance, we should provide indicators for evaluation far beyond subjective impressions. This study aims at providing indicators for evaluation of performance in Damavand high schools (Tehran, Iran). Our population consisted of experts, experienced teachers, student counselors, and chosen students (2506 participants), of which we selected 802 participants in 9 state high schools of Damavand by using clustered, stratified sampling on the basis of Morgan Table. This study is an exploratory applied research. As regards data collection, it is considered survey-based descriptive research. Along with surveying (conducting semi-structured interviews in focused groups and asking open and closed questions), we used library sources. We assessed external validity of measurement materials by providing comprehensive description of performance in a way that other persons can use them in other times and places. For internal validity, we selected participants in focused groups without random. Our findings reflected impact of our indicators as input and output factors of evaluation performance of schools.
