Abstract
The fragmentation model proposed by Sprunger et al. [Fluid Phase Equilib. 288 (2009) 139–144] has been extended to include the partition of solutes into acyclic alcohol, ether, ester and alkoxyalcohol solvents in response to the comments of Endo and Goss concerning the modelʹs large number of fragmentation groups. The model was found to provide a reasonably accurate mathematical description of the experimental gas-to-organic solvent partition coefficient data for the acyclic alcohol, ether and ester solvents considered.
